Clean Cut Kid
FOR FANS OF: THE MAGIC NUMBERS, FLEETWOOD MAC, CIRCA WAVES
Clean Cut Kid are a four-piece from Liverpool – Mike Halls, Evelyn Halls, Saul Godman and Ross Higginson – and arrived at a time when even the most optimistic, glass-half-full sort of person has started to fear that pop as a currency, as a conduit for emotion, truth, complexity and daring, has been cheapened to the point of no return. Clean Cut Kid’s songs possess the whip-smart immediacy of classic radio pop; but there is something much deeper going on in there too.
The band first came to attention after Annie Mac premiered first single 'Vitamin C' on her Radio One show, and the band followed it with tracks such as 'Runaway', stomping anthem 'We used to be in Love' and Radio One track of the day 'Make Believe'. We hear classic heart-on-sleeve songwriting with some incredible guitar playing and group vocals and we're delighted to have Clean Cut Kid as part of Live at Leeds 2017.
