The Opera Comic
FOR FANS OF: THE HEARTBREAKS, FRANKIE & THE HEARTSTRINGS, THE CROOKES
The Opera Comic combine gracious melodies and a charming allure to fashion the notion of reckless romanticism. The grandeur and eccentricity of their music channels the cultural and iconic significance of escapism. This is elegantly captured through Mitch’s distinctive guitar work, and is all the more enhanced lyrically and through the band’s adventurous rhythm that resonates throughout their songs. The 'What is this band?' launch campaign in September saw The Opera Comic set the stage for their continued cinematic presence. The band created an overwhelming amount of intrigue and hype without releasing a single song or even their band name, with just their distinctive spiral logo being shared as a viral image as well as being seen around several cities in the UK. 1st October saw the band officially launch and the release of their debut track 'We Are The Freaks', premiered by Clash magazine. a '"storming debut" (clash), "bringing back that sweeping dramatic suede-ish drive" (T-Bone Records), "with definite hints of artists such as the cure and their own original brilliance, We Are The Freaks is a great sign of things to come" (Needle in the Groove)"
