Yellow Days

Yellow Days

FOR FANS OF: KING KRULE, UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA, MELODY'S ECHO CHAMBER

George Van De Broek is a 17-year-old from Haslemere, England who records under the moniker Yellow Days. Nothing about his brand of bedroom grooves hints at his age. With a soulful, weathered husk he sings evocative, abstract lyrics that are slyly penetrating.

His first single on London-based label Good Years is “Your Hand Holding Mine.” It’s a woozy, simmering song tinged with the old-school soul of Motown as Van De Broek sings of a romance lost and all the things that slip away as lovers’ hands loosen from each other’s clutches.

You can see Yellow Days perform at Headrow House: 17:00.
